for your ac installing a soft start will reduce the amount of start up current needed by up to 50-75%. use the calculator below to get a rough estimate of the size you need.

Personally, I don't like Gasoline only generators (for occasional uses) because gas goes bad and it takes more maintenance than a propane or natural gas operated (think dual/tri-fuel) generators.
One could use a conversion kit but with the added cost and effort, I'd rather get one that supports gas out of the box.

I seriously doubt this generator would be able to service everything you need. With all of that power consumption, you probably want a hardwired backup generator with at least 16k if not 20+kw. I have a 10K stand alone with a whole house 50A plug on the main box. When we are in full consumption mode the air conditioning is running, TVs, appliances, etc and we try to run the microwave, it really taxes the generator (but it does handle it, barely). All that being said, this is a pretty darn good deal for a Generac that is basically 10K.

It's a good price for a 9,000 watt generator with pretty good reviews. Just wish it had auto-idle and I'm curious what the THD is on this unit.

No it won't run all that. But this is a terrific deal on this generator. I paid $950 for it after a hurricane about 7 years ago and it has been awesome. Not low THD, but I've ran tvs and computers on it and had no issues...

Looks like this only has a 30A 240V receptacle, not 50A. Odd for this capacity, and will limit what you can backfeed your panel to 7200W if that's your intent.

Quote from Dr. J : Generators don't tend to have 50A outlets until the nominal is ~>10kw. That's not a hard limit, but 50A is 12kw. Generally speaking manufacturers won't put accessories on units that could exceed their capacity, for example in your house, you could use a 20A receptacle in a 15A circuit. The plug would physically fit and would function. That said, you could also be a dummy that would plug in something that actually requires 20A thinking it would be OK. Provided the breaker is sized for 15A you will be OK (breaker will trip), but it's just bad practice.

Quote from comprx : There are a number of generators with similar or even lower rated power output that have the 50A 14-50R receptacle. They get around the problem you mention by using a breaker on the generator that matches its rated power. For example:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C9KZPM6Y
You didn't read what I wrote. Yes the breaker is going to match the lowest of capacities, but IN GENERAL manufacturers aren't going even allow you to plug in something that is designed for 50A when the device itself cannot support it. The residential analogy I gave is relevant.
