While I’m very interested in seeing this, this makes the idea of spending $40 on movie tickets seem like a potential waste. I’ll probably wait to see it on streaming unless some of the YouTube reviewers I align with say it’s really good

@Ha1frican - $40? Really?!? Just do what I do: first, pull a Dorf:
That way you can get kids' pricing. Then go during a matinee and bring a backpack filled with your own food and drink favorites. Finally find something to complain about AFTER the movie's over, such as the sound being too low, it's freezing in the theater, or some kid was on his cell phone the whole time. That should get you free passes for another movie, thereby offsetting the cost of this movie. AND assuming that those passes don't have any restrictions, you can use them on full priced adult tickets for a non-matinee time. BAM! Now you've seen the movie for free AND made a net profit. So there you go. 😉

@Ha1frican - My wife and I saw 6 movies last month in theaters and spent $40 only on tickets.

@Spoken - Must be nice. Here in upstate NY regal tickets are $17.50 plus tax and then Regal adds another like $5 to buy them and pick your seats ahead of time and they are the only decent theaters around.

@Ha1frican - Additional fee to pick your seat, wtf lol! Here in Canada it comes to about $20 after tax (IMAX 3D, and pick seat option). But, since I'm cheap, I still wait until I accrue enough points on my debit card (10k points=free movie) to go lol. It has worked out for me well so far, that's how I saw Deadpool & Wolverine.

@Ha1frican - Regal Unlimted monthly costs $19-$24, and you get unlimited movies, plus dicounts, etc. Worth at least looking into if you go to the movies that much, or at least would like to.

@Ha1frican - AMC Stubs A List. You spend $20 a month for three movies a week. Whether it’s IMAX, Digital, 3D. So in total you would be spending for 12 movies in a month…$20.

@Ha1frican - 40$ for movie tickets? Jesus Christ that's expensive. I'm glad I don't live in the U.S or wherever it is you live haha.

@Spoken - Where I live we've got something called Pathe Unlimited where you pay 23 Euros a month for an unlimited amount of movies. On top of that you get 50% discount watching movies through their app service at home and 10% discount on food and drinks in the theathers.

@MisterRiviera - It doesn’t cost more to pick your seat but it does to buy them ahead of time which is the only way to get a decent seat now that they are assigned. So they basically hold getting anything but the worst seats at a premium

@IAmAHoot - That’s the problem though I did have it but there isn’t enough I want to see annually for it to make sense especially since if I’m going my girlfriend would want to go too. Sure she’s willing to pay for herself but if it’s something I’m dragging her too like this I’d rather not. Unless something is getting great reviews or is part of a big franchise I’m already invested in it’s actually cheaper to just wait a month or two and just buy it

Ha1frican - cheaper than owning cellphone , I spend 6-8 on tickets there free with regal pass,
You will never if it’s good unless you yourself see it to judge

@Ha1frican - I don't go to the movies like I used to, short of a rare occasion, so I'm in the same boat as you; I don't mind waiting.

@Ha1frican - Damn dude I live in nyc and don’t even pay that much. Go on a Tuesday or Sunday or morning. Unless you don’t have theaters that do deals on those days. I spent 12 bucks on Deadpool opening day. I spent more on that Wolverine bucket than actual tickets.

I enjoyed it. It’s certainly better than either of the Prometheus movies were. There’s an eye rolling line of dialogue that calls back to Aliens, and the second half kind of devolves into a bit of a rushed finish. Some questionable plot choices (Pertaining to THAT character) not withstanding, overall it’s an installment that’s worthy of Alien and Aliens in my book. I’d say it’s to those movies what Prey was to Predator. Not redefining the franchise by any means.

Looking forward to this! In my opinion, Prometheus had great ambition, but fell flat on its face. Alien, on the other hand, is one of the few nearly perfect movies ever made. Made. I'm not expecting that, just a fun romp in the universe that film made.

Very happy it has good reviews. Regardless I was going to see it anyways so I hope it does well and makes good money. Would love to see more from this franchise
Unpopular opinion but Aliens is better than Alien. I said what i said.
BOTH are absolutely classic and some of the best scifi/horror movies of all time, but that's my opinion
