The MENSTH UNITED ensemble consists of 14 female and male musicians musicians of different origins, nationalities and denominations. It was founded in 2024 under the auspices of the JEWLIF association e.V. was founded in Cologne with the aim of using music, dance and positive energy sends a decisive signal for our European democratic values and against the growing anti-Semitism and against prejudice. MENTSH UNITED is a funding project of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and for Home Affairs (BMI) on the basis of a Resolution of the German Bundestag.
"Mentsh" is a deeply rooted concept in Jewish culture. A "Mentsh" is more than just a person - a likeable person who is integrity, honesty, decency and humanity, responsibility and in a friendly, respectful and understanding manner and with sense of community goes through the rhythm of life. Simple human.
"United" stands - as in sport - for unity and team spirit. Both within the Jewish community as well as in the European society as a whole. Our ideal is a united, colorful, diverse society. Community, borne by the longing for freedom and democracy, recognition of plurality and mutual respect. On Our collective future is based on these values. MENTSH UNITED makes bring this vision to life. You can experience the MENTSH UNITED Ensemble at our concerts. Concerts in Vienna, Tübingen and Ingolstadt are currently planned for 2025 is planned.
