Who is Isabel Lucas?
Australian actress and model Isabel Lucas was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on 29 January 1985, making Aquarius her zodiac sign. She has 30 acting credits, perhaps still known best for playing Alice in the 2009 action science fiction adventure movie “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”, which starred Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf, and was directed by Michael Bay. It follows Sam Witwicky who’s left the Autobots behind, wanting a normal life, but has now begun seeing cryptic symbols and is being targeted by the Decepticons; the film won 15 of its 46 award nominations, including an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing. This was also Isabel’s debut film role.
She’s currently working on four upcoming movies, including “The Ogilvy Fortune”, “Six of One” and “Lunacy”.
Education and early life
Isabel was raised in Melbourne alongside her older sister who’s today an environmental attorney, by their mother Beatrice who’s a special needs teacher, and father Andrew who’s a retired pilot and biodynamic farmer.
The family moved several times while Isabel was growing up, and she also lived in Cairns, Queensland and Lucerne, Switzerland. She studied at St. Monica’s College (high school) in Cairns and was mostly into learning languages during her time there, which is why she’s today fluent in Swiss-German and French; Isabel was also into sports, excelling in tennis.
Upon matriculating in 2003, she chose to focus on acting rather than to pursue a college degree.
Roles in TV series
Isabel’s appeared in only four TV series. From 2003 through 2006, she starred as Tasha Andrews in 259 episodes of the romantic drama “Home and Away”, which has aired more than 8,000 episodes since 1988, and today stars Lynne McGranger and Ray Meagher. It follows the people living in the small coastal town of Summer Bay in New South Wales, Australia, and the series won 49 of its 168 award nominations.
The year 2010 saw Isabel play Gwen in the episode “Melbourne” of the action adventure mini-series “The Pacific”, and in 2017, she played Anna in all 10 episodes of the popular fantasy adventure “Emerald City”, which starred Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Adria Arjona, and was created by Josh Friedman and Matthew Arnold. It’s a ‘re-imagining of stories that led to “The Wizard of Oz”’, and the series was nominated for four awards.

Isabel’s only other TV series role has been playing Samantha Cage in 12 episodes (2017-2018) of the action adventure “MacGyver”, which starred Lucas Till and Tristin Mays, and was created by Peter M. Lenkov and Lee David Zlotoff. It follows Angus ‘Mac’ MacGyver as he’s working for a secret US organization, the series aired from 2016 through 2021, and won five of its eight award nominations.
Roles in movies
The year 2009 saw Isabel play Alison Bromley in the hit science fiction action horror “Daybreakers”, and she also played Scarlett in the popular romantic drama “The Waiting City”.
She went on to appear in the 2010 comedy “The Wedding Party” and the 2011 musical comedy “A Heartbeat Away”, and the year 2011 also saw her play Athena in the action fantasy “Immortals”, which starred Mickey Rourke and Henry Cavill, and was directed by Tarsem Singh. It follows mortal man Theseus who’s been chosen by Zeus to lead his army against King Hyperion, and the movie won one of its seven award nominations.
In 2012, Isabel could then have been seen appearing in the action “Red Dawn” and the music video “Ed Sheeran: Give Me Love”, then in 2014 the biographical crime action “Electric Slide”, and playing Natalia in the critically acclaimed historical war drama “The Water Diviner”, which starred Russell Crowe and Olga Kurylenko, and was directed by Russell Crowe. Following the Battle of Gallipoli, the film follows an Australian man who’s travelled to Turkey in search of his three missing sons, and it won 14 of its 39 award nominations.
Isabel’s also known for portraying Gyp in the 2016 action adventure “The Osiris Child”, which starred Kellan Lutz and Daniel MacPherson, and was written and directed by Shane Abbess. Set in the distant future, the movie follows two people who’ve united in hopes of saving the world, and it was nominated for only a single award.
Some of Isabel’s most recent movie roles have been in the 2019 short drama “Green Peace: Change is Coming”, another 2019 short drama “In the Night”, and the 2022 drama “Ocean Boy”.
Other credits
Isabel was featured in three short documentary films in 2017: “The Osiris Child: First Look”, “The Osiris Child: Living Off World” and “The Osiris Child: A Bigger World”.
Some of her talk-show appearances have been in “Entertainment Tonight”, “Rove Live” and “Sidewalks Entertainment”.

Isabel’s won three awards: a 2004 Logie Award for Most Popular New Female Talent, for “Home and Away”, a 2009 Scream Award for Breakout Performance – Female for “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”, and a 2011 Young Hollywood Award for Female Star of Tomorrow.
She was also nominated for a 2010 MTV Movie Award for Best WTF Moment, for “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”.
Love life and relationships
Isabel’s dated several popular actors, hasn’t married as of July 2023, and doesn’t have children.
She and Christopher ‘Chris’ Hemsworth began dating after having met on the set of the series “Home and Away” in 2005, and were together until 2008.
Isabel then dated Adrian Sean Grenier, who broke up with her in July 2008, after she was involved in a car crash together with Shia LaBeouf; it’s widely believed that Isabel was dating Shia at the same time, and that’s what caused the separation.
From 2010 through 2012, she was in a relationship with famous Australian pop and soul singer Angus John Stone.
Interesting facts and hobbies
Isabel’s been an animal lover since a very early age, and her favorites are kangaroos and donkeys; she’s been a vegetarian since she watched the 2005 documentary movie “NationEarth.com’s – Earthlings”.
She moved to the USA to work on her acting career not long after she matriculated in 2003, but has since 2016 been living in Australia, wanting to be closer to her family; Isabel’s today residing in Byron Bay.
She revealed in 2020 that she was against COVID-19 vaccination, and thus stopped being a charity ambassador of Plan International Australia; she also spoke against 5G at a rally in October 2020.
Isabel protested against dolphin culling in Wakayama, Japan in October 2007, and there’s still a warrant for her arrest there as of July 2023.
Close to 220,000 people are following Isabel on Instagram today, and she’s posted more than 900 pictures and videos onto the network, with most showing her during her everyday life.
Amanda Seyfried’s one of Isabel’s favorite actresses, and some of her favorite movies include “Dear John”, “Red Riding Hood” and “Ted 2”.
